For the month of May, the FCCJ welcomes a different kind of exhibition.

The illustrations on display are minutely detailed but surprisingly large creations of rare maze images-depicting cityscapes and panoramic views-that escort you into mesmerizing labyrinths of color and form. Founded in Hiroshima in 2006 by Hirofumi Kamigaki, IC4DESIGN Inc. is creative studio comprised of 4 artists who create intricate, detailed illustrations catering to clients' needs. Having won awards including three gold prizes at the Dubai Lynx, and ADC 89 Silver, IC4DESIGN’s eye-catching, pop images have gained international recognition for their vibrant use of color and uniqueness in fields from product packaging and advertising to book covers.

In 2009, they began supplying cover illustrations for The New York Times Magazine. The group won the Cannes Lions 2017 Bronze Award for its campaign poster for the United Nations organisation UNWomen, and has also worked on numerous other magazines including the "90TH OSCARS" for the Los Angeles Times, for which it received high praise.

The Maze Detective Pierre series has been translated into more than 30 languages and over 33 countries, and adapted into Nintendo games. The artists hope that as many children and school students as possible can see this exhibition and gain inspiration from the pop images.
